Google DeepMind published new examples involving AlphaEvolve, its Gemini-based agent for discovering and improving algorithms. The applications include infrastructure and scientific data processing, with proposed changes tested through measurable evaluation procedures.

Context

A concrete scoring mechanism is central to this approach. When correctness or performance can be checked repeatedly, automated exploration becomes more useful. Moving the method to a different domain still requires a suitable evaluator. Without that, a sequence of increasingly plausible proposals is not the same as demonstrated improvement.
