Anthropic’s next models need tomorrow’s computing capacity

Anthropic announced an agreement with Google and Broadcom for more TPU capacity, with deployment expected to begin in 2027. The planned resources support Claude development and demand for its services. This is an infrastructure commitment, rather than an announcement that a new model is already available.

Context

Product limits are partly physical. Capacity affects waiting times and availability as well as training. A signed agreement, operational hardware, and an improvement users can experience are separate milestones. Keeping them separate makes an infrastructure announcement easier to interpret.
