Waterloo’s AI program starts with organizational change

Cohere and the University of Waterloo announced a partnership supporting an AI Transformation and Change Management certificate. Planned for fall 2026, the program combines classroom learning with applied projects and workplace experience, including human-centered design, ethics, and business strategy.

Context

The curriculum recognizes that adoption is a people-and-process problem as well as a technical one. Identifying a useful task, understanding its constraints, and evaluating the result require different skills from prompting alone. The practical projects will be important evidence of whether those skills transfer into organizations.
